Who Can Donate to Whom — Blood Type Only

This is the first screen, not the last. Matching here uses organ plus self-reported ABO. Your center still runs a crossmatch and a full workup.

The simple map

O recipients generally need O. A may receive A or O. B may receive B or O. AB may receive A, B, AB, or O. O donors are widely useful — which is why O patients often wait longer on the deceased-donor list.

What you order

Matching here compares organ and ABO. If you need a donor, you need that membership. If you already have a willing person with the wrong ABO, you need a Center & Options Review after coverage.

ABO is what we compare. The center does the rest. Start matching. Wrong ABO with a willing person? Review after coverage. Type O wait: why O often waits longer.
